GDEC-CRESSE International Workshop on Advances in Competition Policy Analysis
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, November 6, 2017
In the week of the V BRICS International Competition Conference, CRESSE, and the Competition, Law and Economics Research Group (GDEC) of the Institute of Economics/UFRJ have joined forces to organize an international workshop on advances in competition analysis in Brazil. The workshop provides a gathering of scholars and practitioners for high level international scholarly work dissemination and discussions on competition issues.
CRESSE is an international network of academics and professionals, practicing in Competition or Regulatory Authorities, Consultancies and Legal Practices, with an interest in Competition Policy and Sectoral Regulation. In addition to the annual Annual Competition and Regulation European Summer School and Conference and Lawyers Week, CRESSE has organized and contributed to similar events in different countries.
GDEC is a research group on competition, law and economics and regulation, at the Institute of Economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The Institute of Economics is one of the leading centers for economic research and has a distinguished graduate program in economics in Brazil.
In addition to the Workshop, CRESSE and GDEC, jointly with CADE, are organizing a day seminar in Brasilia on November 8, 2017, the Lectures in Competition Analysis.

CONFERENCE VENUE
The conference will take place at the Mercure Botafogo Mourisco Hotel. Situated near the downtown city center, in the tourist Zone between Sugarloaf and Copacabana Beach, a fifteen-minute drive from Santos Dumont airport. Served by several bus lines and the metro, the venue offers rapid access conditions to various areas of the city, in addition to being close from two multi-services shopping centers, such as Rio Sul and Casa e Gourmet shopping mall.
