Prof. Camila C. Pires Alves
Holds a Ph.D degrees in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She acted as Chief Economist and deputy Chief Economist at Cade - Administrative Council for Economic Defense. She was also a Visiting Scholar at the American University - Washington College of Law. Currently, she is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economics - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, coordinates the Gdec. Her research deals with Competition Policy, Regulation and Industrial Organization.

Prof. Eduardo Pontual Ribeiro
Holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Illinois. He acted as Commissioner, Chief Economist and Deputy Chief Economist, at Cade. Currently, he is Associate Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His rearch focuses on Competition Policy, Applied Microeconometrics and Labor Economics.

Prof. João Luiz Pondé
Holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from State University of São Paulo - Campinas. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His research interests on Economic Theory deal mostly with transaction costs, competition policy, new institutional economics, institutional change and economic methodology.

Prof. Luiz Carlos Prado
Lawyer and Ph.D. degree in Economics from Queen Mary College, University of London. He acted as Commissioner at Cade. Currently, he is Professor at the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His research experience covers areas such as Economic History, International Economics, Economic Development, Antitrust and Regulation.

Profa. Maria Tereza Leopardi Mello
Lawyer and Ph.D. in Economics from State University of São Paulo - Campinas. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Economics – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in Law and Economics, dealing mostly with property rights, competition policy, regulation and intellectual property.

Prof. Mario Luiz Possas
Telecommunications Engineer (Military Engineering Institute, 1970), MSc (1977) and Doctor (1983) in Economics at Campinas State University. President of CAPES Economics Consultant Committee, 1987-90. CNPq researcher and ad hoc consultant in 1987-2002 (level 1-A). Full Professor, presently retired, in the Institute of Economics/UFRJ, still in charge of graduate courses, research and dissertation supervising activities, as Emeritus Professor since 2014. Associate Professor at Dept. of Economics, FCL-Ar/UNESP, from May 2013 through March 2017, as well as FAPESP Visiting Professor at the same Dept. in 2015-16. Has extensive academic and professional experience in Economics, including Economic Theory, Industrial Economics, Competition Economics and Policy (Antitrust), mainly in the subjects: Macroeconomic Dynamics, Industrial Economics and Innovation, Regulation and Antitrust. Senior Consultant at INCT/PPED/IE/UFRJ since 2009.

Competition and Regulation European Summer School (CRESSE) and Gdec are organizing the International Workshop in Advances in Competition Policy Analysis. The goal of the workshop is to bring together academics, policy makers and other practitioners specializing in the area of competition economics and policy to discuss the recent advances in the area.

Competition and Regulation European Summer School (CRESSE) and Gdec are organizing the Lectures in Competition Analysis, as a pre event to the V International BRICS Competition Conference. These lectures will bring together distinguished scholars from different countries to provide an up to date perspective in a number of relevant competition issues in Brazil and other countries, taking from experience from other countries competition policy and practice and advances in economic analysis.
